Modern Manufacturing Practice,with a focus on 3D printing, assembly,and machine shop operations. Understanding sustainable manufacturing including the economic,environmental and social dimensions. Strength of Materials including stresses and deformations Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) and Electric Cars. Turbo machinery and Wind Energy. Systems and Control including sensors,actuators and smart machinery. Feedback principles with applications to vehicle dynamics .
Aerospace Engineering (2 Weeks)
What makes Airplanes fly? Rocket Science and How Satellites Work will be covered including the physical, mathematical and computational aspects of aerodynamics, space dynamics and propulsion,at high school level. Planned activities include using a water table experiment to demonstrate wave patterns analogous to shock waves in supersonic flows over airfoils or in nozzles as well as flying model airplanes and rockets.
